We are sticking with the basics – 20 paddler boats and a 375m race course.

Our goal is to have two qualifying heats, semi-finals and finals. Community Teams will race a 375m course.

As always, the river will be a part of your race challenge!

We can help match your team with another team in the same boat (no laughing).

UPDATE: We have shortened the racecourse. Race will be about 375 meters. There are hazards near the start line that are a concern.

Races are 500 meters on the Willamette River. The start point is the south side of the Marion Street bridge connecting West Salem with Salem downtown, the finish line is south of the Riverfront Park dock. Click here to view.

Community Teams will race as Mixed Teams.

Race Day Schedule and Other Information

7:30a Day-of-Event Check-in opens.

Please bring a completed copy of your Team Roster form to the check-in table by 8:30am.

Team Rosters are limited to 25 members, including drummer and steer.

Please be sure all team members have signed the eWaiver.

Teams will be directed to their tent site.

One canopy will be provided for each team. Teams may bring additional canopies.

7:30 Load and paddle Dragon Boats away from the dock to prepare for welcoming & blessing ceremony.

8:00 Blessing and Welcoming of the Dragon Boats by the Kalapuya representatives.

We invite any paddler, who would like to participate in the Welcoming Ceremony, to join us on the dock at 7:30. Bring your paddle and PFD. We will load the race boats and paddle away from the dock and then return. Upon arriving at the dock one of our elders will ask permission, of the Kalapuya, for us to be able to use the Willamette for our race day. We will also offer gifts.

8:30 Captain’s and Steers meeting – meet at the announcer/marshaling area

8:30 Marshaling begins – race schedule is approximate

9:00 — 10:00 Women Round 1 heats

10:00 — 10:30 Mixed Round 1heats

10:30 — 11:00 Community Teams

11:00 — 12:00 Women Round 2heats

Gear Drop-off & Parking — Drop-off passes will be mailed Wed June 15.

Drop-off entrance is at Union and Front Streets in Salem. There will be security checking for your pass.

There will not be parking available at the park. Cars will be towed.

There are several parking structures within walking distance of Riverfront Park.

Marion Parkade – 400 Marion Street. On Liberty St between Marion and Union Streets.

Chemeketa Parkade – 300 Commercial Street. On Commercial St between Center and Court Streets.

Water – please bring large water dispensers. There will be water available via a hose.

Trash and Recycle containers will be available.

Vendors

Food Vendors will be available in the main World Beat Festival area.

Организация на лодок драконах корпоративных мероприятий — лучший выбор.

Гонки на лодках-драконах, придуманных в Китае, обязательно понравятся сотрудникам. Ведь это почти как «оседлать» сказочного дракона: спереди лодки расположена голова, сзади его хвост, а вёсла – символичные лапы. Управление таким длинным «зверем» потребует от команды слаженности и подчинения общему ритму.

У нас большой опыт организации и проведения подобных мероприятий за рубежом. Коллектив делится на экипажи, в каждом из которых от 6 до 11 человек, а количество экипажей неограниченное. Гребцы размещаются попарно, человек на корме лодки превращается в барабанщика, а на носу – в рулевого. В задачу владельца барабана входит задавать ритм команде, что создаёт атмосферу древнекитайской регаты.

Наши инструкторы помогут научиться основам гребли, чтобы во время спортивного тимбилдинга Вы узнали что-то новое о себе, открыли ощущение полёта по воде, слаженно работая в команде.
